FALLS BOXING CLUB 2008 - 2009
MEMBER TRAINING

Niagara Falls Boxing Club welcomes all new members and folks
just wanting to "check out" what is happening in the sport. We encourage
anybody that is interested to come by the gym. If you would prefer
to stay on the sidelines your first time out, you can do that, however, you
never know until you try!
Give us a call, we are happy to
answer any questions you may have. (905) 354-7918
Novice and competitive athletes train
from 6:00pm - 7:30pm, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday also Saturdays from 3:00pm -
4:30pm. We train together because this is of value to new athletes, they see
what it takes to get in the ring. Novice athletes are encouraged to watch and
learn things from the competitive team. Professional boxers are also often
present during these training sessions. The pros and the amateurs are all part
of the NFBC Family. All can learn from one
another.

NO MEDICAL, NO SPARRING,
NO
EXCEPTIONS!
Competitive boxers
train up to four times per week in the gym. Boxers spend time outside gym
time doing roadwork and maintaining a healthy body weight to stay in top
shape. The workout for competitive boxers is based on high intensity cardio
exercises and drills. Gym time is also spent polishing technical skills and all
competition boxers take part in fully supervised sparring two to three times per
week. Competitive boxers are registered with Boxing Ontario and display their
skills at boxing shows and tournaments when the opportunity
arises.
Members at the
novice level have the opportunity to train up to four times per week.
This class focuses on the fundamentals of boxing with individual
attention available to each participant.
Novice level boxers do many of the same
exercises and drills that the competitive boxers use to stay in shape. When
boxers are ready, if they want to, they can try some light, fully supervised,
sparring with an experienced partner. This is an excellent program to use
for physical fitness or to help athletes on their way into competitive
boxing.
