All coaching & training staff at our club are certified in their area of expertise, and they are also all volunteers. They give their time and energies to train our boxers to excel in this sport. All have unique experiences to offer the members of the gym. Coaches & trainers are working with members for the enjoyment of being part of the sport of boxing. RON GALLEN Head Coach & Pro Manager 30+ years of experience as a certified Level 3 coach, current president of Boxing Ontario, former amateur boxer, Level 3 judge/referee certification, pro manager.Former President of

2009 Coaches Association of Ontario's Coach of the month Ron took over as head coach in 1986 from club founder John Degazio. Since then, he has worked tirelessly with countless aspiring boxers of all age groups. Ron is willing to travel to different shows so that his boxers gain experience in the ring. Rons theories are simple, you work hard for him and he will work hard for you, no matter if you are trying to achieve a higher fitness level or if you are planning to be a world champion of boxing. All boxers who are doing their best have a place in Rons gym. |

SCOTT COPELAND Assistant Coach
Niagara Falls boxers can expect Scott to openly analyze their technique with honesty. He has a keen eye for the details and will help athlete of all levels to reach perfection. Scott is a regular in the NFBC corner at fight shows near and far. We thank Scott for bringing his energy and expertise weekly to NFBC.

COLLEEN GALLEN Assistant Coach, Volunteer Coordinator 15+ years experience in boxing, certified

coach, volunteer coordinator, athlete and assistant trainer in Ladies Only BoxFit. New, inexperienced boxers to Niagara Falls Boxing Club can expect to spend some time learning footwork and punches from this fine coach. Lolly is patient and clear in her explanation and demonstration of technique. All boxers enjoy working with Lolly as she is positive but tough! During the past 3 years, Lolly has been an active participant and fill in instructor at the Ladies Only BoxFit classes. As a result, she has gained the knowledge of what it's like to go through "getting fit" and "staying fit". She, while on this journey has inspired many of the boxers as well as the ladies in class. Lolly, with her new found fitness, has participated in the Skylon Stair Climb for Cancer (660 stairs) and "Hike for Hospice" (5km) for 2 years running. She has also been a part of the 5km Candy Cane Lane Run and in 2009 came in the top three of her age division! Lolly is an enthusiastic leader AND participant of the Niagara
Falls Boxing family. |

STEPH VAN ZANDWYK Assistant Coach, Ladies BoxFit Trainer 9+ years experience in boxing, former amateur boxer, former professional boxer, athlete and can-fit pro certified trainerStephanie is a Level 1 coach. She is a tough trainer to the boxers and to the Ladies Only BoxFit class. Stephanie has been with the Niagara Falls Boxing Club for 10 years. As an amateur boxer, she took part in over 25 bouts. Stephanie obtained her professional boxing licence in 2008 and currently continues training as a boxer and sparring partner. Stephanie completed her first endurance event in 2010, successfully completing a 100km trailwalk in 35 hours. Stephanie is happy to help other people enjoy the sport of boxing at their own speed. She also enjoys the occasional opportunity to work the corner for her team mates. She is a certified CAN FIT PRO personal trainer specialist and trains clients at NFBC. She is available to all members with all types of fitness and nutrition questions and information. Stephanie
is the creator of the Niagara Falls Boxing Club
monthly fitness
challenges.
These events test
every athletes fitness
level
and pushes
them to
the
extremes. These challenges
are a fun addition to the NFBC
training regiment.

SCOTT PAUL Assistant Coach, Professional Boxer 7+ years experience in boxing, former amateur boxer, professional boxer, certified personal trainer and strength & conditioning coachScottie
is working on his Level 1 coaching
certification and a degree in kinesiology. Scottie sets positive example to all boxers with his strict training regiment, extraordinary fitness level and top shelf attitudes. He is a sparring partner to all amateur fighters experienced and novice, male and female. We are pleased to have Scottie "The Spark" at our disposal.

![]() | MATT CAMPBELL Assistant Coach, Hand Pad Tech 10+ years experience, former amateur boxer, Level 1 coaching certification, hand pad tech Matt has been with Niagara Falls Boxing Club for 5 years as a coach. He is our hand pad technician, spending countless rounds per session in the ring with all of our competitive boxers. Matt has joined NFBC to help out on many out of town shows as well as club shows at home. Matt is a former competitive boxer with NFBC and offers a unique perspective to the new fighters heading into the ring. He constantly comes up with new and innovative combinations that are guaranteed to keep opponents of NFBC boxers guessing at what will come next. Matt works every athlete to their limit of speed and power. NFBC feels lucky and thankful to have

LEO MARSH Pro Trainer, Pro Manager 40+ years experience, former amateur boxer, former professional boxer, recognized in the boxing hall of fame Leo specializes in professional boxers but, is always able and willing to offer up some helpful advice for the newcomers to boxing. Usually having one or two fighters under his tutelage, Leo is a dedicated trainer. Having spent a lifetime in all facets of boxing. Leo is a great asset to Niagara Falls Boxing Club. | ![]() |
![]() | ED DAWSON Trainer, Professional Boxer 20+ years experience, former amateur boxer, professional boxer Ed Dawson is a Niagara Falls Boxing Club original. Successfully competing in many amateur matches, Ed made the decision to turn pro in 1998. During that time he completed 8 bouts. After proudly serving his country, Ed Dawson returned to the professional boxing stage in 2002. Recently returning to the Niagara Region, Niagara Falls Boxing Club is thrilled to welcome Ed back into our gym as he is an excellent influence and inspiration to boxers and coaches. Ed spends his time setting a positive example to athletes with his training regiment as well as spending many rounds in the ring as a sparring partner. Ed offers an experienced perspective to his team mates and presents his advice in easy to understand and direct formats. Ed is an excellent asset to our club and we welcome his advice and expertise at each opportunity.
